KAMLOOPS - After three years a group of outdoor skating enthusiasts are delighted to hear the City of Kamloops is looking at two locations for a proposed outdoor skating rink.

"This is not just about skating this is about building community," Nancy Bepple says. "And an outdoor skating rink — if you go to say Kelowna — it's not just about skating it's about creating a community and making something that in the winter time brings people together."

Bepple is a member of the Kamloops Outdoor Skating Association, a group that has been working for three years to get an outdoor skating rink in the city.

“I can’t wait to hear the details on the two location options the city and the urban systems consultants have arrived at," skating association member Steve Gainey says in a media release.
