KAMLOOPS - Search and rescue dogs, along with members of the Kamloops Search and Rescue team, will featured on next week's episode of the Rick Mercer Report.
The clip, featuring the well known TV host being lowered down a cliff in a basket with a dog, will be part of the Tuesday, Nov. 1 episode. Mercer spent the day at Roche Lake with search and rescue dog trainers and the local search and rescue rope rescue team Sept. 24 during a search dog testing and training exercise.
Mike Ritcey, who is with both the local search and rescue team and Search Dog Association, pitched the idea to Mercer months ago, knowing the event was scheduled for this fall. On the day of the event Mercer was funnier than Ritcey expected.
“He’s pretty funny on TV, but I had no idea,” Ritcey said at the time. “His crew was just unbelievable.”
The show airs at 8 p.m. on Nov. 1.
