Kamloops RCMP's Supt. Mueller leaving the detachment

Kamloops RCMP Supt. Brad Mueller.

KAMLOOPS - The officer in charge of the Kamloops RCMP detachment has been promoted and will be transferred to Alberta.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release that Supt. Brad Mueller has accepted a promotional transfer to the neighbouring province and will take on his new role as Chief Superintendent.

“This was not an easy decision to make as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here in Kamloops and working with such a dedicated group of people at this detachment,” Mueller said in his announcement to officers and employees of the detachment. “The City of Kamloops has such a strong sense of community. Both Kathy and I have embraced living here and have been proud to call this home for the last four years. We will miss the people and always remember our time here.”

Mueller is moving to RCMP headquarters in Edmonton, taking over the position of deputy criminal operations officer. In this role, he'll be responsible for overseeing all operational policing matters in relation to general duty policing for RCMP in Alberta, along with other sections supporting criminal operations in the province.

"Our detachment has done tremendous work and made great strides over the last four years and I have full confidence that the officers and management team are very well positioned, on all fronts, going forward," Mueller said in his announcement.

Shelkie says Mueller will work with the City of Kamloops and the South East District RCMP over the next few months to find a successor.
