Kamloops RCMP, conservation officers respond to bear in parkade

Kamloops RCMP and conservations officers are asking the public to avoid a North Shore parkade and the surrounding area after a bear was spotted this afternoon.

Police were called to deal with the young bear after it was seen in a parkade near Renfrew Lane and Tranquille Road today, Aug. 16, around 12:50 p.m., according to a Kamloops RCMP press release.

Conservation and RCMP officers are at the scene and are asking the public to stay clear so they have the space to safely deal with the bear.
