KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are investigating if two fires on the North Shore yesterday were the result of arson.

Police say Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to a call early yesterday morning, March 24, at 2:08 a.m. in the 800-block of Evergreen place where a fire started outside of a house, spread to some cedar trees and damaged the side of a home, according to a RCMP media release.

Just 10 minutes later, police and firefighters attended to another residential fire in the 600-block of York Avenue. Police say this fire also started outside of the house and damaged the side of the home as well.

“There were no injuries and minor damage to both locations,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in the release.

Police are investigating both of these fires and will determine if they were arson or related.

Anyone with information about either of these fires can contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
