A popular Kamloops nightclub will be closing permanently for the remainder of the year.

CJ's posted on Facebook yesterday, Sept. 22, the nightclub will be closed for the rest of 2020.

The club had just reopened with new COVID-19 protocols in place when the province issued an order to close nightclubs and banquet halls, effective Sept. 8.

They were among other nightclubs in town forced to close including The Blue Grotto, which had undergone expensive renovations and had also just reopened prior to the closing order.

CJ's had planned to host Vancouver rapper Madchild in November, however it is unclear at this time whether or not the performance will be rescheduled for 2021.
