Kamloops resident Taylor Starling bought a scratch and win lottery ticket from a gas station while walking with his girlfriends on a snowy day.

He was at home at his kitchen table when he checked it and found out he’d won $50,000 on the Continents Scratch & Win lottery, according to a  B.C. Lottery Corporation media release.

“I was in disbelief. It’s so exciting and freeing," he said in the release.

The ticket was purchased at the Super Save Gas station on Westsyde Road in Kamloops.

Starling has no immediate plans for his prize but looks forward to planning a trip in the near future.
