KAMLOOPS —  A Kamloops man is offering a $500 reward for the safe return of his three-year-old French bulldog.

Tyler Schell was in his front yard with his mother washing his mom’s car when his dog, Tucker, went missing this past weekend.

“He always hangs around the yard when we do stuff,” he says. “I saw a lady coming by with dogs and so I went to look at my dog to make sure he didn’t go chase after her dogs and he wasn’t there.”

Schell says this was on Sunday, July 14 at around 11:30 a.m. at his home in Westsyde.

“He doesn’t wander, he doesn’t bugger off from the yard or anything like that and he was just gone,” he says. “We immediately started looking for him and he just completely vanished.”

Schell says he turned to Facebook to ask for help. It’s been nearly two days and has spent days searching, putting up posters and talking with hundreds of people.

“Nobody has seen anything,” he says. “The fact that I have spoken to so many people it leads me to believe that perhaps someone has taken him. French bulldogs are expensive popular dogs.”

Schell says he is worried about his dog’s health since he has a spinal condition he takes medication for and also is on a restricted diet.

“If somebody was to find him and decide they want to keep him he can only eat a special kind of food or else he throws up all the time,” he says.

Schell says he has even taken his boat out to search for his dog.

“We went right up the North Thompson River and didn’t see anything,” he says. “We have been hollering for him and he would come if you called him.”

Schell says his dog is very friendly and approachable.

“He’s great with little dogs, he tends to scrap with bigger dogs but with people he’s wonderful and he loves kids,” he says.

The $500 reward is for anyone who can safely return his dog.

"It's a no questions asked reward if we can get him back safely," he says. "We don't care, we just want him back."

Anyone with information on Tucker can contact Schell at 250-319-8662.
