Kamloops man in jail after pulling knife on cops

A man is in jail after an armed confrontation with Kamloops RCMP on the North Shore earlier this week.

James Bradbury of Kamloops was arrested on Wednesday, June 9, after a federal warrant was issued for breaching his parole, according to an RCMP news release.

Bradbury, 40, was located by Kamloops RCMP on the 600 block of Brandon Street, where police attempted to negotiate a surrender from the knife-wielding suspect.

Both negotiations and Tasers failed to subdue him.

One officer was able to knock the knife away, making way for his safe arrest, RCMP said.

Police say Bradbury was taken to hospital for an assessment, then taken to the Kamloops Regional Corrections Centre.
