A suspect is in custody after a series of fires downtown and another in North Kamloops last weekend.

William Aaron Lamb, born in 2000, is charged with four counts of arson and he's scheduled for a bail hearing later today.

Five suspicious fires were discovered in downtown alleys on Saturday night, May 15. A man was also spotted lighting a grassfire the next morning in North Kamloops.

Police investigated all six fires as related, with Lamb now facing charges for three Saturday night fires and the Sunday morning fire, according to court documents.

It's not clear whether the weekend fires were related to any of the other fires in Kamloops in the past few weeks.

Another man, Owen Lee Coty, 26, has been in custody for two other North Kamloops arsons since April 30.

Lamb has no prior criminal record in B.C., according to court records.
