A 46-year-old Kamloops man is facing charges after he was caught throwing rocks at children in a playground on Tuesday.

Officers were called at approximately 12:15 p.m., July 25, to a playground in the 200 block of St. Paul Street after a complaint about a man throwing rocks and yelling at children, according to an RCMP media release. RCMP don't say if anyone was hurt during the rock throwing incident.

A suspect was arrested and held for a bail hearing, RCMP said.

Ali Bedjaoui, 46, is facing a charge of mischief and causing a disturbance.

He appeared in court Wednesday and will remain behind bars until his next court appearance in court Friday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information related to the investigation, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-23586.
