KAMLOOPS - Police have arrested a man after he allegedly broke into vehicles in the Juniper Ridge area.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police received a report from a Nechako Drive resident at approximately 4 a.m. today, Dec. 18.

The complainant said they could see a man inside their vehicle parked outside their home.

Shelkie says police quickly located the suspect, who ran into a forested area in an attempt to flee from police.

The area was surrounded and the police dog was called in. The dog was able to track down the suspect and he was arrested.

Shelkie says the 23-year-old Kamloops man is known to police and charges of theft will be recommended to Crown counsel.
