Kamloops La Senza store in Aberdeen Mall permanently closed

The Kamloops Lasenza in Aberdeen Mall will not be re-opening.

Some Kamloops residents looking to purchase underwear may be in for a longer drive than they're used to.

According to a notice posted to the outside of La Senza in the Aberdeen Mall, the store's Kamloops location will not be re-opening.

For loyal customers, this will mean driving to Vernon to buy their products, or ordering online.

La Senza has yet to release a statement regarding the closure, so whether it is COVID-19 related is unknown at this time. No other location closures have been announced in the Okanagan.

This follows in the wake of unhappy creditors claiming that La Senza owes money for the goods they received, and isn't paying them

Further, La Senza was quoted saying it lost $40 million in the year 2018, on sales of roughly $250 million.

The commercial real estate company for the mall, Cushman and Wakefield, would not comment on the Kamloops closure.

La Senza did not provide comment in time for publication.

Other stores in Aberdeen Mall have re-opened with new social distancing markers and masks for some staff.

The mall has been relatively quiet since many stores re-opened at the end of May, according to one employee.
