A homeless man and his therapy cat were reunited today, after the cat went missing for a week.

Graham Donovan, the cat’s owner, has been anxiously pleading for the public’s help in finding his cat Famous while several people searched for the missing feline.

The cat was identified by a bylaw officer and a friend of Donovan’s through a text exchange early this morning, March 31. Famous was found sitting on a porch on the Kamloops Indian Band reservation in the area he was seen last week.

“I got the message from an officer who we spoke with on Saturday and sent him a photo of Famous to confirm,” friend Brittni Baker said. “It was him. After I picked up Famous I drove around to find Graham. The reunion was so special and emotional.”

After the reunion, Baker said they went through the Valleyview Tim Horton’s drive thru for breakfast.

“Famous was sticking his head out the window and the staff in the Tim Hortons saw him and everyone came to the window cheering about how amazing it was the cat was found,” she said.

Baker said the cat is in good shape and content, and Donovan is all smiles.

“I asked Creator for help,” Donovan said. “Thank you so much for everybody’s help and the thought they put into it.”

Baker plans to get new tags made for the cat collar with phone numbers of the community members who help care for Donovan and Famous on it to prevent similar incidents in the future.
