Death of man whose body was found in dumpster suspicious: RCMP

Kamloops RCMP say the death of a man whose body was found in a dumpster is now considered suspicious.

The body of Gregory “Troy” Hamilton, who was known as Troy Hamilton and the nickname Monster, was found in a dumpster between two buildings on Curlew Drive in Kamloops, April 20. Two days later investigators released a photo of Hamilton and said they had not yet determined whether or not his death was considered suspicious.

Police announced today, May 1, his death was suspicious.

“The circumstances are suspicious surrounding the manner in which he was discovered,” Kamloops RCMP Sgt. Nestor Baird said a media release. “We are continuing to work with the BC Coroners Service to determine an exact cause of death.”

Investigators are trying to piece together Hamilton's last movements and are appealing to residents in the area of Curlew Drive to once again to review their security video footage.
