Kamloops driver loses it after being pulled over; allegedly spits at police

FILE PHOTO

A Kamloops driver being investigated for impaired driving took out their frustration on a police cruiser and spat at the investigating officer, according to Mounties.

The altercation started March 6, around 11:50 p.m., when an officer with the RCMP’s Central Interior Traffic Services was conducting an impaired driving investigation on Willow and Popular streets in Kamloops.

"When the vehicle’s passengers got out (they) began hitting the police cruiser’s windows and yelling profanities," RCMP said in a press release sent out by Const. Crystal Evelyn.

"As backup arrived and the passengers were arrested, the vehicle’s driver allegedly became destructive, kicking the police vehicle’s windows and spitting at officers."

All three people were arrested, then later released - one with a court date related to alleged offences.
