KAMLOOPS – The morning show host on a Kamloops radio station was killed early Thursday morning in a crash on the Trans Canada near Chase.

Mike Evenson, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash on Highway 1 about five kilometres west of Chase.

As eastbound logging truck and westbound car collided, which lead to another collision with a tractor-trailer hitting the overturned logging truck.

Evenson, the morning show host on 97.5 The River was the only one in the car.

The father of two is being remembered on social media.

“We lost one of our own today. Mike was a wonderful young man and an even better husband and father,” co-worker Bob Price says in a tweet. “Our hearts are broken.”

The two semi drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The RCMP say alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor in the crash.

The Trans Canada was closed until 1 p.m. Thursday as RCMP investigated and the wreckage was removed from the road.
