KAMLOOPS - A crash on Highway 1 in Valleyview just before 11 p.m. Wednesday is being blamed on alcohol.

Cpl. Kelly Butler says RCMP were called to a collision between a semi-trailer and a pickup truck around 10:50 p.m., June 24, near Highway 1 and Oriole Road. The semi was turning west onto the highway when it was struck by an eastbound pickup truck.

Butler says while damage to the pickup was extensive there were no injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a ‘contributing factor’ and the driver of the pickup was issued an immediate roadside prohibition.
