Need motivation to stay inside during the COVID-19 pandemic? Why not shave off your eyebrows like this Kamloops couple.
Justin Young and Justine Manuel have been doing their best to stay indoors, although Young admits he is struggling.
“Justin being such an extrovert he wants to go and get out of the house, so I said, ‘If you leave, I'm going to have to shave your eyebrows off while you're sleeping,” Manuel says.
What she didn’t expect was that Young would be on board with the idea, and encouraged her to do it as well.
On Monday night, March 23, it was time.
“As soon as she started putting the foam on my eyebrows I realized there was no backing out,” Young says.
The couple had no idea the video would generate the kind of attention it did. So far, it's been viewed and shared more than 9,300 times.

“It’s a small price to pay compared to what everyone else is doing. Doctors, nurses, front line workers out in the community they are giving their entire life to support the human race. Man, all we did was shave our eyebrows off,” Young says.
The main reason the couple wanted to catch the moment on video and share it on social media was to help bring some light and laughter to others. They don’t expect anyone else to follow their lead, especially after they learned it will take months for their eyebrows to grow back.
Manuel says she’s not worried, as she can use makeup if she’s ever to go out in public again. For now, she doesn’t think it’s much of a big deal, as her son didn’t even notice the change.
Overall, the couple hopes this creates some laughter and happiness during a stressful time.
