KAMLOOPS -  Nominations for the Kamloops Business Excellence Awards are now open.

The Kamloops Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 33 years of the awards that provide an opportunity for Kamloops businesses to be recognized for their success, a media release says. Nominations for the awards are being accepted until April 15, 2019.

Nominees will be contacted by the Chamber to confirm that they would like to let their name stand. If they do, nominees will then fill out an award submission form that will be scored by each award's selection committee. The confidential scores are then sent to KPMG to be tabulated.

The top three scoring businesses and business people in each category become the finalists for the Business Excellence Awards, the Chamber says. From there the award winner will be chosen.

All nominees are then recognized at the finalists announcement in June. At that time the finalists will be announced. The Chamber says each finalist will be interviewed by their selection committee, made up of three outstanding community members, who will score them and choose the winner.

Winners of each award will be announced at the Gala Event in October at the Coast Kamloops Hotel & Conference Centre. Tickets for the event will go on sale at the finalist announcement and will be available on the Chamber's website or in the office.

If anyone has any questions they can contact the Chamber at 250-372-7722, or email mail@kamloopschamber.ca.
