KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have announced the hockey club’s head coach will not be back next season.

Serge Lajoie and the Blazers have mutually parted ways, according to a press release issued by the hockey club.

The Blazers were knocked out of the first round of the WHL playoffs by the Victoria Royals.

“We’d like to thank Serge for his time and effort with our hockey club,” General Manager Matt Bardsley says in the release. “We’d like to wish Serge and his family all the best in their future endeavours.”

Lajoie was head coach for the 2018 to 2019 season.

“I’d like to thank Matt and the Kamloops Blazers for the opportunity this past season and wish them success in the future,” Lajoie said in the release.

The search for the next head coach of the Kamloops Blazers will begin immediately.
