The Kamloops Blazers will be hosting Military Appreciation Night on Wednesday, November 2nd when they play the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Game time is at 7:00pm at the Sandman Centre.
The Blazers will have 500 veterans, active military and their families in attendance thanks to our tremendous sponsors Inland Glass & Aluminum, Arrow Transportation Systems Inc., Pitts Enterprises, and the Kamloops Indian Band.
The Blazers will be wearing Military themed jerseys on the night. They will be auctioned off via a blind ballot. Bids will start on November 2nd at 6:00pm and bidding will close at the November 11th game at 8:00pm.
Bids for the jerseys can be done at our November 2nd, November 4th and November 11th home games as well as by email at info@blazerhockey.com. All net proceeds will go to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
Two fighter jets will be doing a flyover of the Sandman Centre earlier in the day from the 419 Tactical Fighter Squadron from Cold Lake, Alberta. The Rocky Mountain Rangers will have three Military vehicles on the plaza prior to the game.
The pregame ceremony will include rappellers coming down from the rafters, a moment of silence and a ceremonial faceoff.
Commanding Officer of the Squadron Lieutenant-Colonel Mike ‘Moose’ Grover and Commander of the Rocky Mountain Rangers Regiment Lieutenant-Colonel Normand Dionne will be part of the pregame ceremony. In addition, Mr. Joe Pringle, a member of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion will also be a part of the ceremony.
