Susan Hook and Martha McCallum say they will continue to live together and plan to travel the world after a big lotto win.

KAMLOOPS - A pair of best friends from Kamloops have been there for each other through all of the good and bad in life, and have been united through it all.
Susan Hook and Martha McCallum have been friends for over 50 years and decided to go “all-in” on a BC/49 ticket, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation media release. All six of their numbers matched with the winning August 17th draw. The pair are now $2 million richer.
“I was on my coffee break and decided to check the ticket,” said McCallum in the release. “I thought ‘what do all the zeros mean?' And I went back to work believe it or not.”
The women are both widowed and say that the win came on a day when a pick-me-up was much needed.
“I am not a drinker but I said ‘I need a glass of wine’ when we found out, and we cried together,” said Hook. “Yesterday was the anniversary of my husband’s passing and it is quite something to know that we became millionaires on that day. I dread that day every year.”
The pair currently live together and will continue to do so. They plan to fulfill their lifelong dream of travelling the world and look forward to making their lives a little more comfortable.
