Kamloops athlete Greg Stewart is bringing home a silver medal from the World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai.
Stewart took second place in the F46 shot put final today, Nov. 15, with a personal best of 16.30 metres, according to the World Para Athletics Championships website.
The gold medal was taken by San Diego resident Josh Cinnamo, who threw 16.80 metres for a new world record.
Stewart won also won a silver medal in September in Lima, Peru, at the Parapan American Games, despite a back injury.
Victoria's Nathan Riech won a gold medal in the men's 1500-metre T38 finals in a championship-record time of four minutes 2.04 seconds, while teammate Liam Stanley, also from Victoria, was fifth.
Canada finished the championships with six medals (three gold, two silver, one bronze) and 14 top-5 performances.
Decorated wheelchair racer Brent Lakatos of Laval, Que., led the way with three medals (two gold, one silver).
