Colder weather is creeping in on Kamloops and the Okanagan.

Flurries and snow were reported in areas northeast of Kamloops and in higher-elevation terrain yesterday, Sept. 16, according to Yimei Li, a meteorologist with Environment Canada.

Fog is visible along Highway 97C this morning, Sept. 18, and it is likely to arise again each morning in the next four days, Li said.

Overnight lows into the first half of next week are expected to drop as low as 5 C in the Okanagan and 8 C in Kamloops. Li said the risk of frost begins when overnight lows drop to 4 C, so there is a low risk of it happening in the Okanagan.

Between now and Sept. 21, daytime highs in Kamloops and the Okanagan will be in the low-20s, and skies will be mainly sunny.

Later in the week, on Sept. 22 and 23, skies will be cloudier but there is no forecast of precipitation.
