The new Mayor of Penticton is Julius Bloomfield.
The one-term councillor narrowly edged out Jason Reynen and handily defeated incumbent mayor John Vassilaki.
Joining him on council are Amelia Boultbee, Isaac Gilbert, Ryan Graham, Helena Konanz, James Miller and Campbell Watt. Only Watt and Miller are returning councillors.
Bloomfield finished with 3,374 votes to 3,155 for Reynen, a political outsider best known for starting an organization to patrol Penticton streets. Vassilaki got 2,052 votes.
Bloomfield and his wife owned and operated the Naramata Pub before he became a realtor in 1992, and he currently sells for Royal LePage.
