KAMLOOPS – Kamloops Blazers General Manager Craig Bonner announced today that the Blazers have signed 15-year-old forward Jermaine Loewen to a standard WHL contract.
The 6’2“ and 181lb forward was selected by the Blazers with the 48th overall pick in the third round of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. In 31 games during the 2012-13 hockey season, Loewen had 31 goals, 24 assists and 55 points with the Interlake Lightning Bantam AAA team.
“Jermaine had a very good training camp,” commented General Manager Craig Bonner. “He’s still fairly new to the game of hockey having started playing at the age of 10. We are excited to have him as a part of our organization and look forward to watching his continued development.”
Loewen joins forwards Quinn Benjafield, Jake Kryski and defenseman Dawson Davidson, who have all signed with the Blazers, from the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. Benjafield and Kryski are both first round picks, while Davidson is a fellow third round pick.
