KAMLOOPS - While the cold weather will last a couple more days in Kamloops, it’s due to warm up significantly over the weekend and into next week.
Environment Canada is forecasing sunshine today, Jan. 12, but cold with a high of -12 Celsius. There will be a breeze though, with wind up to 15 kilometres per hour, dropping the temperature to -30 C when including wind chill. The mercury will drop to -20 C overnight.
Tomorrow will be similar to today, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of -10 C, but a breeze up to 15 km/h again will mean -27 C when wind chill is factored in. Overnight the temperature will drop to -15 C.
Expect a mix of sun and cloud on Saturday with a high of -10 C. Clouds roll in overnight with the temperature steady at around -10 C.
On Sunday it will warm up a little, relatively speaking, with a high of -7 C during a cloudy day and -6 C during a cloudy night.
Next week the warming trend will continue, with a high of 1 C on Monday. Tuesday a high of 4 C is forecast and Wednesday will be downright balmy for this time of year with a high of 7 C.
Normal temperatures for this time of year are highs of -1 C and lows of -8 C.
