Assault, robbery charges laid after sudden death in Invermere, B.C.

INVERMERE, B.C. - Charges have been laid in connection with the death of a man in the southeastern B.C. community of Invermere.

RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says 23 year old Brian Panebianco was picked up July 19 in Radium, about 15 kilometres north of Invermere.

Panebianco is now charged with assault, robbery, and breach of recognizance in relation to the death of 31-year-old Cory Jarock.

Panebianco also faces outstanding arrest warrants unrelated to Jarock's death and is due to appear in an Invermere courtroom to face all the allegations.

Jarock was found unconscious in the driveway of an Invermere home on April 3, just hours after leaving a party at the same house.

Investigators have not yet said how Jarock died and the case continues to be investigated by the Mounties' major crimes unit, based in Kelowna. (The Canadian Press)
