An intoxicated Kamloops man with a hankering for ice cream but apparently no money to pay for it wound up in RCMP custody late last week.
Officers were called to a business on Lorne Street at around 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, to a report of an ice cream thief, according to an RCMP media release.
The suspect got away on foot, but later came back and tried to steal more ice cream.
Police also received two reports about disturbances on Victoria Street involving the same man.
Officer caught up with the suspect on Lansdowne Street between 5 and 6 Avenues and took him into custody.
RCMP say he was “lodged in cells” to sober up.
The ice cream thief won’t be facing any charges as the business decided not to press charges.
