Escaped inmate from Quebec found

LAVAL, Que. - One of the inmates who escaped from a Quebec minimum-security prison was found after three days and was back in custody Wednesday.

Gilles Meloche was one of two inmates who had fled from the Montee St-Francois federal prison in Laval, Que., over the last several days.

Correctional Service of Canada said it would review the circumstances of the incident and will address any security problems at the minimum-security prison.

Meloche is 56 and has been behind bars since 1980 for second-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery and armed robbery.

An inmate identified as Phillipe Pelletier, who fled from the same facility several days earlier, has not yet been found.
