iN VIDEO: The owner of this dump pile found in Kelowna may have been found

It’s not the worst individual act of illegal dumping that Kane Blake has ever seen but it’s definitely blatant.

Blake, with Okanagan Forest Task Force that reports on and cleans up illegal dumping in Okanagan forests, took a video of this site today, Dec. 7, near the bottom of Gillard Creek Forest Service Road.

In the video, he notes that there seems to be two dumpster loads containing renovation debris, concrete and plastic garbage bags where he found an address.

“We’ve been to his house already,” Blake said in the video. “They’re doing some reno work there. And there’s a bin there. We’ll see how all that goes.”

The dump is blatantly in clear view of nearby homes.

Blake told iNFOnews.ca that the house he went to is about a five-minute drive from where the dump is.

He’s informed the RCMP and conservation service and plans to talk to city bylaws as well. He’s hoping they take over and take action.

“Right now, there’s not much I can say, we’re in the middle of the investigation,” he said, although, in the video he said: “He’s going to be told to come clean it up.”

Apparently it’s the same spot another large pile of similar material was dumped two weeks ago.
