A Shuswap man narrowly avoided getting into an accident Friday night after a vehicle darted out in front of him as he was driving along Highway 1.
While driving along the highway, a vehicle suddenly pulled out in front of Jacob Wituik, who frantically honked his horn Feb. 14. He filmed the entire scene on his dashcam.
Wituik said he had just recently installed the camera last month. While he said an incident like this one doesn’t happen too often, people have been known to turn left along the highway in the Canoe area with no turning lanes.
He’s glad an accident was avoided and that he didn't have to spent Valentine's Day in the hospital, he said. “I usually have weird stuff happen to me when I drive, but nothing like that.”
