BC's police watchdog is investigating after the man behind the wheel of a tractor that tipped over during a collision with a police vehicle in Surrey on the weekend.

BC's police watchdog is investigating after the man behind the wheel of a tractor that tipped over during a collision with a police vehicle in Surrey on the weekend.

RCMP said in a media release officers tried to pull over the tractor that was part of a convey travelling to Vancouver on Highway 1 at around 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25.

The tractor and police vehicle crashed and the tractor tipped over, coming to rest on its side. The driver remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP officers tried to pull the tractor over for an extended period of time before the crash.

The independent investigation office investigation will seek to confirm the details of the incident and if the man’s injuries meet the threshold of serious harm, as defined by the Police Act.
