Kelowna RCMP officers and firefighters are showing their support for healthcare workers this weekend with a few parades.

"On Saturday March 28, and Sunday March 29, frontline officers of the Kelowna RCMP are planning on forming a procession from the Kelowna RCMP Detachment, westbound on Clement Avenue, southbound on Water Street and along Pandosy Street past Kelowna General Hospital before dispersing to their duties. This procession is planned to begin at approximately 7:30 p.m.," according to Cpl Jocelyn Noseworthy, with the Kelowna RCMP, in a news release.

Police cars and fire trucks honked their horns last night as healthcare workers watched from the hospital windows.

"This event has been inspired by the utmost respect, admiration, and appreciation the Kelowna RCMP have for our healthcare professionals who have been tasked with a difficult job during the challenges of the pandemic of COVID-19," says Cpl Michael Kube of the Kelowna RCMP. "We wanted to show our support for everything they are doing for our community."
