Wednesdays are garbage days in Jett's Kamloops neighbourhood and like every week at this time, you'll find the four-year-old German Shepherd waiting patiently for a visit from his friend.
Every week he waits for the garbage truck driver, Curt Stickley, who stops on his route in Brocklehurst to give him a treat.
"It got to be a thing," Jett's owner Derek Molter said. "Curt would come by and he would stop the truck, get out and interact with Jett."
Now, Jett anticipates his arrival.
Molter said he and Jett weren't home when Curt passed by one day, but that didn't stop the garbage truck driver from stopping.
"Next thing I know, I've got a note in the mailbox, with a handful of cookies in it," he said. "I thought it was a good thing for him to do."

Molter said training dogs is a hobby of his, and Jett can do more than just sit or shake a paw.
Jett knows how to close and open doors, and pick up garbage and recycling. On command, he can put it in the correct bins.
When Molter goes grocery shopping Jett sits patiently outside waiting, and carries the grocery bag in his mouth on the walk home.

Jett carries his ball launcher himself when coming home from the park too, and people take notice.
"People see the stuff he does and if they're having a bad day, it makes them smile," Molter said.
