A trucker who was passed while approaching a blind turn on Highway 3 earlier this week saw the other driver pulled over by the police 21 minutes after it happened.

The action was captured by a dash cam and the video was uploaded to YouTube by TruckBC.

“Impressive Response by RCMP to Report of Unsafe Pass on Highway 3” was posted on Dec. 23 and the video’s timestamp shows the same day at 1:13 p.m.

At the bottom of a valley on Highway 3 to the east of Manning Park, the truck is seen in the video turning 180 degrees around an elbow turn right before a cube van passes while a blind turn is approaching. The trucker can be heard honking as the van goes by.

A caption on the video said it was reported to the RCMP immediately. The first call dropped so the truck driver stopped at the East Gate Esso to provide more information.

The video, which is nearly two-minutes long, was recorded in one shot but it speeds through several uneventful kilometres.

A subsequent caption says that at 1:34 p.m., “Got that cube van pulled over.”

The trucker was impressed by the 21-minute police response. He can then be seen pulling over in front of the cube van and police cruiser to provide a statement to the officer.

RCMP did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident.
