IN PICTURES: Possible school closure, parking pay stations and the weather

School District 73 is considering the closure of Stuart Wood Elementary, an aging facility with no accessibility, limited gym and outdoor space and high maintenance costs.

KAMLOOPS - The long weekend brought some nice weather to the 'Loops', but at higher elevations a winter playground is well underway where snowshoers and cross country skiers are already enjoying cold weather recreation. At the lower elevations cats and birds played in the fallen leaves and by the end of the week winter threatened higher elevation neighbourhoods like Aberdeen, though the snow quickly melted leaving behind a muddy mess once again.

Remembrance Day ceremonies featured a fly-past by the 419 Squadron out of Cold Lake, Alta., a spectacle that had people gathered at all the best viewing points in the city to catch a glimpse.

Potential controversy hit the streets this week as well, as the new parking pay stations went live and the school district announced it would like to close Stuart Wood Elementary by September 2016.
