iN PHOTOS: Kamloops, Okanagan locals capture images of stormy night sky

Strong winds and rain battered the Interior last night, and locals captured the storm's looming clouds.

Eric Mak, meteorologist with Environment Canada, said it’s not unusual for these types of storms during this time of the year.

“It brought some pretty intense rain for about four hours,” he said.

A rapid change in pressure with a strong cold front was the cause of this storm, he said.

Environment Canada issued special weather statements yesterday, May 2, for most of the Interior, stating that winds could reach up to 80 km/hr.
