The Snowbirds pilot injured in the plane crash in Kamloops last week was honoured last night, May 21, with a drum circle at Royal Inland Hospital.

Capt. Richard MacDougall has been recovering at the Royal Inland Hospital after sustaining injuries when his CT-114 Tutor Jet crashed in the Brocklehurst neighbourhood shortly after taking off from the Kamloops Airport, May 17.

His passenger Capt. Jenn Casey, the team's public affairs officer, was killed the crash.

Photos show Capt. MacDougall enjoying the performance from a wheelchair surrounded by his family.

Drummers included the Secwepemc Child and Family Services Drumming Group, according to an Instagram post from the RIH Foundation.

In the days following the crash, a memorial paying tribute to Capt. Casey has grown at the Kamloops Airport.

Capt. Casey was also honoured with a car parade May 20, organized by the Kamloops Car Scene, and a drum circle at the airport memorial May 18.
