Dozens of artists and performers are in Penticton for Ignite the Arts, a festival that’s been happening since last week.

And today is the busiest day.

Several downtown venues are taking part – Dream Cafe, Cannery Brewing, Brit Bar, and Elks Halls. They'll be hosting shows simultaneously, and concert-goers have the option of going to any venue at any time.

"It’s all about building and strengthening community," Ignite The Arts boardmember Paul Crawford said. "A celebration and acknowledgment of the importance of art in our lives and it’s ability to connect us as through celebration, ceremony and the common shared experience."

The numerous performers part of this year’s lineup includes Loon Town, Blackberry Wood, Kitty and the Rooster, Digging Roots, Wax Mannequin, Freshwater Jukebox, Balkan Shmalkan and Al Simmons. The full lineup can be found here. Many artists will be performing both April 1 and 2.

Wristbands for today cost $75, and for tomorrow it’s $50. They can be purchased online or at the Penticton Art Gallery before 4 p.m.
