CLEARWATER – The identity of a woman found dead after a mobile home fire in Clearwater earlier this month has been identified by the B.C. Coroners Service.

Liane Marianne McDonald, 61, was home alone in her mobile home in the 900-block of Mountainview Road in Clearwater when neighbours noticed smoke coming from inside shortly before 10 p.m. on Dec. 1, according to a B.C. Coroners Service media release.

The neighbours called 911 but firefighters were unable to save her.

"Once the fire department had extinguished the blaze, Ms. McDonald was found to be deceased," the release states.

Her death is still being investigated by the RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service.
