OSOYOOS - Human remains were found at Haynes Point Provincial Park yesterday.
The discovery was reported to Osoyoos RCMP after a contractor excavating for washroom upgrade found the bones at a depth of about four to five feet.
An investigation has so far determined the bones to be archeological and in close proximity to other archeological remains found in the past.
The scene is still under investigation by the Provincial Archeological Branch and is conducted in conjunction with the Osoyoos Indian Band and B.C. Parks.
