Polar Bear Swims have become a tradition for many people to kick off the New Year across several communities and Kamloops and the Shuswap is no different.

This year’s annual Kamloops Polar Bear Swim will take place at Riverside Park starting at 12 p.m on Jan 1, 2020. Come alone or form a team, but organizers ask for participants to bring non-perishable food bank items for the refreshing New Years day dip in the Thompson River.

The fifth annual Polar Bear Swim in Shuswap Lake will take place at the Scotch Creek provincial park boat launch. Swimmers are asked to meet up at 11:30 a.m on Jan 1, 2020.
