Children unhurt after attackers tie them up during Surrey home invasion

SURREY, B.C. - Four youngsters and their two caregivers in Surrey, B.C., are OK after being tied up and threatened during what RCMP are calling a targeted, home invasion-style robbery.

It happened late Wednesday afternoon when two men forced their way into a home in Surrey's Strawberry Hills neighbourhood and began demanding several items.

The father of the children interrupted the heist and was punched in the face before the robbers fled.

The children and their caregivers were not hurt.

Police are working with the father in hopes of identifying the suspects, described as South Asians wearing dark hoodies and driving a dark-coloured Honda Civic.

Investigators are not saying what was taken from the home, but they are confident the attack was not random.
