WEST KELOWNA - The West Kelowna Warriors are proud to announce that forward Brett Mennear (96) has committed to the Bentley University Falcons for the 2017/2018 season.

Mennear, who is from West Kelowna, is in his 2nd full season for the Warriors, playing in 102 games, and recording 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points.

“I’m very excited to have committed to play hockey at Bentley University. I decided to commit there because it was a great fit on the ice as well as academically,” Mennear said.

The Warriors coaching staff also echoed Brett’s statements about the fit to the Falcons program.

“Brett is a great 200 foot player, and Bentley is getting a player that is dedicated on and off the ice,” said Warriors Associate Head Coach/GM Brent Gough. “We are extremely excited for this opportunity for Brett. Bentley has had great success with players from our program and we hope that Brett is another one of those successes.”

Prior to joining the Warriors, Mennear played for the Okanagan Rockets of the BC Major Midget League, where he put up 32 goals and added 57 assists for 89 points in 78 games.

He also had 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists) in 8 playoff games for the Rockets in 2012/2013.

He will join fellow Warrior teammate Jonathan Desbiens on the Falcons roster in 2016/2017.
