A grass fire in West Kelowna has prompted the local fire department to remind the public that spring has arrived.

The fire started in the 2100 block of Shamrock Drive, according to a West Kelowna Fire Department media release issued last night, March 24.

Crews arrived to find a fast-burning fire with homes nearby.

The fire caused minor damage to one home before it was extinguished.

With the arrival of dry-grass season, the fire department asks the public to “Please take all precautions to eliminate and source of ignition.”
