OHL roundup: Visiting Firebirds edge Otters 2-1 in shootout

ERIE, Pa. - Nathan Aspinall was the only one to score during a three-round shootout and the Flint Firebirds edged the Erie Otters 2-1 in Ontario Hockey League action on Monday at Erie Insurance Arena.

Lucas Ambrosio gave the Otters a 1-0 lead at 15:06 of the second period, but Jimmy Lombardi tied the game at 1:59 of the third.

The Otters outshot the visitors 34-26, but could only get one puck past Firebirds' (24-27-2-3) netminder Nathan Day. Noah Erliden made 24 saves for the Otters (27-23-4-2).

The Otters went 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Firebirds were 0-for-2.
