A look at the Canadian camp roster for the 2014 world junior hockey championship in Malmo, Sweden.

Goaltenders

Jake Paterson, 19, Saginaw Spirit (OHL), 6 feet, 185 pounds. Hometown: Mississauga Ont. Quick-legged and dependable. Drafted in the third round by Detroit in 2012.

Zachary Fucale, 18, Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL), 6-1, 176 pounds. Hometown: Rosemere, Que. Used to playing behind a top team in Halifax. First goalie taken in the 2013 draft, by Montreal in the second round.

Defence

Adam Pelech, 19, Erie Otters (OHL), 6-2, 215 pounds. Hometown: Toronto. Mainly defensive rearguard. Drafted in the third round by the New York Islanders in 2012.

Chris Bigras, 18 Owen Sound Attack (OHL), 6-1, 189 pounds. Hometown: Woodland Beach, Ont. Smart, solid defensively. Drafted 32nd overall by Colorado in 2013.

Aaron Ekblad, 17, Barrie Colts (OHL). 6-3, 216 pounds. Hometown: Belle River, Ont. High-skilled two-way blue-liner. Captain of under-18 team at 2013 Ivan Hlinka tournament. Eligible for the 2014 draft.

Damon Severson, 19, Kelowna Rockets (WHL) , 6-2, 198 pounds. Hometown: Melville, Sask. Strong puck mover with a big shot. Drafted in the second round by New Jersey in 2012.

Josh Morrissey, 18, Prince Albert Raiders (WHL), 6 feet, 184 pounds. Hometown: Calgary. Good passer and power play point man. Drafted 13th overall by Winnipeg in 2013.

Griffin Reinhart, 19, Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL), 6-3, 212 pounds. Hometown: West Vancouver, B.C. Big, physical leader will miss first three games due to suspension at 2013 WJC. Drafted fourth overall by the New York Islanders in 2012.

Derrick Pouliot, 19, Portland Winterhawks (WHL), 6 feet, 203 pounds. Hometown: Weyburn, Sask. Mobile, puck mover excels on attack. Drafted eighth overall by Pittsburgh in 2012.

Mathew Dumba, 19, Minnesota Wild (NHL), 6 feet, 183 pounds. Hometown: Calgary. Big hitter with top skills. Drafted seventh overall by Minnesota in 2012 and started season with Wild.

Morgan Rielly, 19, Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), 6 feet, 205 pounds. Hometown: Vancouver. Strong skater and power play quarterback. Started season with Leafs, who took him fifth overall in 2012.

Forwards

Hunter Shinkaruk, 18, Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL), 5-10, 181 pounds. Hometown: Calgary. Strong forechecker, gritty. Drafted 24th overall by Vancouver in 2013.

Charles Hudon, 19, Chicoutimi Sagueneens (QMJHL), 5-10, 175 pounds. Hometown: Boisbriand, Que. Smaller two-way left winger and playmaker. Drafted in the fifth round by Montreal in 1012.

Bo Horvat, 18, London Knights (OHL), 6 feet, 203 pounds. Hometown: Rodney, Ont. Physical scoring centre, strong on face-offs. Drafted ninth overall by Vancouver in 2013.

Taylor Leier, 19, Portland (WHL), 5-11, 177 pounds. Hometown: Saskatoon. Scoring winger having productive season in Portland. Drafted in the fourth round by Philadelphia in 2012.

Kerby Rychel, 19, Guelph Storm (OHL), 6-1, 205 pounds. Hometown: Tecumseh, Ont. Gritty scoring winger, son of ex-NHLer Warren Rychel. Drafted 19th overall by Columbus in 2013.

Connor McDavid, 16, Erie Otters (OHL), 6 feet, 182 pounds. Hometown: Newmarket, Ont. Considered next NHL superstar. Will turn 17 on Jan. 13. Eligible for 2015 draft.

Felix Girard, 19, Baie-Comeau Drakkar (QMJHL), 5-11, 190 pounds. Hometown: Levis, Que. Hard-working mostly defensive centre. Drafted in the fourth round by Nashville in 2013.

Nic Petan, 18, Portland (WHL), 5-9, 173 pounds. Hometown: Delta, B.C. Quick, smaller centre among WHL scoring leaders. Drafted in the second round by Winnipeg in 2013.

Scott Laughton, 19, Oshawa Generals (OHL), 6-1, 190 pounds. Hometown: Oakville, Ont. Smart, two-way forward played five games last season for Flyers. Drafted 20th overall by Philadelphia in 2012.

Frederik Gauthier, 18, Rimouski Oceanic (QMJHL), 6-4, 215 pounds. Hometown: Mascouche, Que.. Big, two-way centre. Drafted 21st overall by Toronto in 2013.

Sam Reinhart, 18, Kootenay Ice (WHL), 6-1, 183 pounds. Hometown: West Vancouver, B.C. High-scoring brother of Griffin Reinhart was captain of 2012 U18 team. Eligible for the 2014 draft.

Josh Anderson, 19, London Knights (OHL), 6-2, 199 pounds. Hometown: Burlington, Ont. Physical right winger. Drafted in the fourth round by Columbus in 2012.

Curtis Lazar, 18, Edmonton (WHL), 6 feet, 198 pounds. Hometown: Vernon, B.C. Gritty scoring centre. Drafted 17th overall by Ottawa in 2013.

Jonathan Drouin, 18, Halifax (QMJHL), 5-11, 185 pounds. Huberdeau, Que. Highly skilled left winger is recovering from concussion. Drafted third overall by Tampa Bay in 2013.

Anthony Mantha, 19, Val d'Or Foreurs (QMJHL), 6-5, 204 pounds. Hometown: Longueuil, Que.. Scoring left winger with big wrist shot. Drafted 20th overall by Detroit in 2013.
