CHICAGO - Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan is among the 31 players who will sit on the NHL Players' Association collective bargaining committee.

Ottawa Senators defenceman Chris Phillips and New York Islanders star forward John Tavares were also named to the committee following three days of executive board meetings in Chicago.

The collective bargaining agreement between the NHL and its players expires Sept. 15.

The union and the NHL are slated to begin talks on a new collective bargaining agreement in New York on Friday.
